MIL-STD-40051B, DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE STANDARD PRACTICE: PREPARATION OF DIGITAL TECHNICAL INFORMATION FORMULTI-OUTPUT PRESENTATION OF TECHNICAL MANUALS (31 JAN 2003) [S/S BY MIL-STD-40051/1 OR MIL-STD-40051/2]., This standard establishes the technical content, style and format requirements for alltechnical manuals (TMs) for major weapon systems, and their related systems, subsystems,equipment, weapons replacement assemblies (WRAs), and shop replacement assemblies (SRAs).The requirements are applicable for all maintenance levels through overhaul (depot) includingDepot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs) and National Maintenance WorkRequirements (NMWRs). The requirements can be used to develop TMs in a variety of outputforms including interactive screen presentations (frame-based manuals) and paper paged-basedmanuals.

【摘要】:ThispracticedescribesproceduresforspecimenpreparationandmountingwhentestingwoodproductstoassessflamesspreadandsmokedevelopmentassurfaceburningcharacteristicsusingTestMethodE84.TestingisconductedwithTestMethodE84.Thispracticedoesnotprovidepass/failcriteriathatcanbeusedasaregulatorytool.Usethevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsasthestandard,inrefereedecisions.ThevaluesintheSIsystemofunitsaregiveninparentheses,forinformationonly;seeIEEE/ASTMSI-10forfurtherdetails.Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Firetestinginvolveshazardousmaterialsandequipment.Thisstandardgivesinstructionsonspecimenpreparationandmounting,butthefire-test-responsemethodisgiveninTestMethodE84.SeealsoSection10.Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterials.Thesenotesandfootnotesshallnotbeconsideredrequirementsofthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
